New Delhi, October 26 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in the national capital on Sunday. Sources have described the meeting as a routine courtesy call, which took place during CM Adityanath’s visit to Delhi for scheduled talks and official programmes.
Although not much information regarding the meeting was immediately available, sources believe that the Chief Minister and the Union Minister exchanged views on various ongoing matters related to governance and coordination between the Central and State governments. However, no formal statement was issued.
Addressing the gathering, the Uttar Pradesh CM wrote: “Today in New Delhi, I had a courtesy call on the Honorable Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah Ji and received his guidance. Hearty thanks for sparing your valuable time!”
The talks between the two senior BJP leaders were described as cordial and cordial, with sources saying such courtesy meetings are a regular feature of coordination between the two leaders, who have worked closely on many important matters over the years.
Also on Sunday, CM Adityanath paid a courtesy visit to BJP national president and Union Chemicals, Fertilizers and Health Minister JP Nadda at the official residence of him in the national capital. This meeting took place at a time when BJP has intensified its preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
According to sources, the Uttar Pradesh CM reached JP Nadda’s residence in the evening, where the two leaders greeted each other and briefly discussed several key issues.
Addressing X, Yogi Adityanath wrote: “Today I had a courtesy call on Honorable National President and Union Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda Ji in New Delhi. Thank you very much for giving your valuable time!”
Although no statement was issued, sources said the meeting was part of regular talks between senior party leaders.
Sources said that the meeting between the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the National President of BJP was cordial.
Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath reviewed the preparations for the annual Kartik Purnima fair in Garhmukteshwar (Hapur district) and Tigri Mela in Amroha.
After conducting an aerial survey of the fair sites, he held a review meeting and issued necessary instructions to all concerned departments.
The Chief Minister said that during Kartik Purnima, about 40 to 45 lakh devotees gather on the banks of Ganga to take a holy bath and offer lamps. He stressed that all arrangements should be timely, well-coordinated and focused on ensuring a seamless experience for devotees.
CM Yogi instructed the officials to give top priority to traffic management, security, cleanliness, health facilities, drinking water and lighting. This year, the fair, which runs from October 30 to November 5, is being organized as a “Mini Kumbh”.
Emphasizing that the safety of devotees is paramount, the Chief Minister directed deployment of NDRF and SDRF teams, CCTV and drone surveillance, rescue boats and setting up helpline centers at all Ganga ghats.
