Ahmedabad, Oct 26 (IANS) Ahead of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and grand National Unity Day celebrations on October 30 and 31, a high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Director General of Police (DGP) Vikas Sahay at the VVIP Circuit House in Gujarat’s Ekta Nagar.

Due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi attending the function, extensive security and logistical arrangements are being made.

On arrival, DGP Sahay was given a guard of honor by police personnel before being welcomed by the Police, Statue of Unity Range and senior officials of the district administration.

During the meeting, the DGP stressed on maintaining top level security and cleanliness around the accommodation areas of the VVIP guests and ensuring impeccable implementation of all arrangements related to the Unity Parade, the centerpiece of the function.

District Superintendent of Police Vishakha Dubey presented a detailed PowerPoint briefing on the two-day deployment plan, outlining the security grid, traffic control measures and transport arrangements for the dignitaries and attendees. The plan also included designated vehicle routes, parking facilities and bus and car services to transport guests to the venue.

The meeting was attended by officials from various departments including roads and buildings, electricity, fire service, health, water supply, housing and tourism. He discussed the accommodation, food and travel arrangements of the VVIPs, LBSNAA trainees and civilians attending the function. The Tourism, Youth Services and Cultural Activity departments briefed the gathering about the upcoming cultural performances and related artist facilities.
