Kolkata, Oct 26 (IANS) The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has allotted five marks for Group C and Group D aspirants who have previous work experience, an education department official said on Sunday.
Candidates with experience who will appear in the Group C and Group D recruitment examination next year will be given five marks out of 100.
As a result, people without any prior experience will appear in the exam for 95 marks, as five marks will be reserved for those with experience.
Apart from this, WBSSC has also distributed marks of many subjects.
According to the Commission, for recruitment to the post of Group C, a written examination of 60 marks will be conducted through OMR sheet. Ten marks are allotted for educational qualification, 10 marks for oral interview and a total of 15 marks are allotted for computer typing and additional computer knowledge.
Five marks will be reserved for people with previous experience.
Earlier this month, WBSSC had released the recruitment notification for Group C and Group D posts. As per the notification, applications can be submitted from November 3 to December 3. This time the examination is going to be conducted for the recruitment of non-teaching staff. The notification states that there are 2,989 vacancies in Group C.
Whereas, there are 5,488 vacancies in Group D. For both the posts, general category candidates will have to pay Rs 400 to apply.
Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Specially Disabled category will have to pay Rs 150. However, tainted and ineligible candidates will not be able to apply for the examination.
Last month, SSC had conducted the State Level Selection Test (SLST) in two rounds to recruit teachers for classes 9 to 12.
The SLST was conducted after nine years to fill 35,726 teaching posts for classes 9-10 and 11-12. Of these vacancies, 23,212 posts are for classes 9 and 10, and 12,514 posts are for classes 11 and 12.
The fresh exam is being conducted in the backdrop of the teacher recruitment scam that has rocked West Bengal politics for the past few years.
The Supreme Court on April 3 canceled the appointments of around 26,000 teachers and non-teaching staff who were recruited after the 2016 selection process.
The new exams are being conducted following the Supreme Court order, which had barred tainted and ineligible candidates from the previous panel (2016) from appearing in the new exam.
