Ahmedabad, Oct 26 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday attended ‘Shatchandi Mahayagya’ at Gojriya village in Mehsana district and claimed that science guided by faith can achieve any goal.
Extending New Year greetings on the occasion of Vikram Samvat 2082, the Chief Minister emphasized that development must go hand in hand with tradition – reflecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “progress while preserving heritage”.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the Yagya, CM Patel said, “If science is guided by faith, we can reach any goal.”
He made the remarks while participating in the ‘Maha Yagya’ organized by Shri Umiya Mataji Temple Trust and the Patidar community.
He praised Gozaria village by noting its spirit of collective strength – “A village is not only capable of carrying out its tasks without any hindrance but is also capable of helping others achieve their goals.”
Speaking on the renewed spiritual energy across the country following the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, CM Patel underlined the important role of Gujarat in nation building. “The vision of a developed India can be achieved only through a developed Gujarat,” he said, detailing the state’s initiatives to ensure inclusive development reaching every village and citizen.
The Chief Minister also highlighted Gujarat’s efforts to accelerate economic growth, including the government’s new sector-wise Vibrant Summit. Patel said with satisfaction, the first such conference held recently in North Gujarat resulted in investment commitments of over Rs 3 lakh crore and over 1,200 MoUs.
CM Patel concluded his address by urging the people of Gozaria to take new resolutions for the year and prayed to Goddess Umiya Mata for their successful fulfillment.
MP Haribhai Patel highlighted the importance of maintaining religious practices across India to promote values among the younger generation.
Haribhai Patel said, “True development includes not just roads and infrastructure but also spirituality and cultural values.”
Rajya Sabha member Mayank Nayak appreciated the organizers for organizing Shatchandi Mahayagya to reconnect the youth with Sanatan Dharma amid the development of technology and artificial intelligence. He assured continued support for the development of Gozaria and pledged to ensure that the village remains at the forefront of progress.
On this occasion, CM Patel worshiped Goddess Umiya Mata and honored the donors who contributed to the Mahayagya.
Mehsana MLA Mukesh Patel, Mehsana District Bank President Vinod Patel, Collector SK Prajapati, members of Umiya Mataji Temple Trust, Patidar community leaders and a large number of devotees were present in this program.
