Patna, Oct 25 (IANS) With Bihar Assembly elections in 2025 just a few days away, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday stepped up his campaign, addressing a massive public meeting at Raj High School grounds in Dumraon in Buxar district.
Highlighting the achievements of his government in the last two decades, Nitish Kumar urged voters to ensure a comprehensive victory for the NDA-backed candidates in all four assembly constituencies in the district.
The Chief Minister reminded the gathering of the chaotic and anarchic situation that existed in Bihar before 2005, comparing it to the era of development, stability and good governance under his leadership.
Nitish Kumar said, “Before 2005, Bihar was known for mismanagement and lawlessness. We have completely changed that image of the state. Our focus has been on education, healthcare and empowerment of women.”
Listing major achievements, he said his government established polytechnic and engineering colleges, improved school and health infrastructure, and built an extensive network of roads, reducing the travel time from Dumraon to Patna from six hours to barely one and a half hours.
He further claimed that 40 lakh youth were provided employment opportunities, while 1.21 crore women received financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for self-employment.
“We have given 35 per cent reservation for women in government jobs in Bihar, increased the honorarium of physical teachers, cooks, Anganwadi workers and helpers and others. We have also increased the social security pension for widows, elderly and disabled people. Our target for the next five years is to create jobs for one crore youth,” he announced to loud applause from the crowd.
Nitish Kumar also said that his government has firmly established the rule of law in Bihar.
He concluded, “Today there is peace and order in the state. We will continue to work for the welfare and prosperity of every section of the society.”
