Hyderabad, October 23 (IANS) Police have arrested three accused in the attack on a ‘cow protector’ on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Sonu Singh alias Prashant was injured when an accused fired at him at Pocharam IT corridor under Rachakonda police commissionerate limits on Wednesday evening.
Rachakonda police have arrested Ibrahim, Masin and Srinivas, who are said to be the main accused. Police were searching for the second accused Hanif Qureshi.
Ibrahim stopped Sonu Singh’s car near Yamanpalli. An argument took place between them during which Ibrahim allegedly fired two shots from his pistol, injuring Sonu Singh. The accused had absconded after the attack.
Police reached the spot and took the injured to the nearest hospital. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Secunderabad. Doctors have removed the bullet from his body and he is said to be out of danger.
The attack was reportedly related to the transportation of cattle. The accused had allegedly planned to attack Sonu Singh as he was giving information about the movement of vehicles carrying cattle to some organizations which used to free the cattle.
Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy, Telangana BJP president Ramachander Rao and MP Eatala Rajender visited the hospital.
He inquired from the doctors about his condition and the medical treatment being provided to him.
BJP leaders claimed that Sonu Singh was a ‘cow protector’ who was shot by MIM leaders after he was stopped from taking away cows.

Ramachander Rao said such “communal attacks” prove that law and order has completely “collapsed” in the state.
Ramachander Rao said, “I demand that the government immediately arrest the culprits and give them severe punishment. If the government cannot assure the safety of Hindus, it will lose its moral right to remain in power.”
The BJP leader said it was sad that a person who was working to maintain peace was attacked. He said, “BJP will never tolerate such violent actions. I am demanding that the government take immediate strict action against the accused.”
