brooke shields has called South Park Producers Trey Parker and Matt Stone Over a union dispute at a restaurant he owned in Colorado.
Parker and Stone Purchased and renovated Denver’s historic Casa Bonita restaurant in 2021.
As well as the typical restaurant staff, the establishment also employs a number of dramatic artists. These actors voted to form a union in November last year and are represented by the Actors’ Equity Association.
They are currently campaigning for fair wages, safety measures and other benefits.
Shields, in her role as president of the Actors’ Equity Association, called out Parker and Stone by name in a new Instagram Video.
Shields says, “Hey Matt and Trey, nice to meet you.” “As you know, I am the President of the Actors’ Equity Association, the union that represents the actors who work for you at Casa Bonita. You probably know that we have been bargaining for their first union contract for quite some time, but what you probably don’t know is that your restaurant management is really playing fast and loose with this bargaining process.”

She adds: “This is not respectful to the artists who put everything into making Casa Bonita a unique destination.”
Shields further claims that artists are not earning a livable wage. Casa Bonita United’s bargaining petition states that a living wage calculator estimates the required wage in Denver at more than $30 an hour, but many members, in reality, earn only $21 an hour.
“They’re being paid less than their coworkers who are actually serving the food,” says Shields. “So not only are they hard at work entertaining Casa Bonita guests and spending their volunteer hours haggling – they’re also putting their names to a petition.”
Shields concluded with a request to Parker and Stone to address the artists’ petition “so we can all put this chapter behind us. Because without the artists who bring Casa Bonita to life, it’s just a big pink restaurant.”

Casa Bonita filed for bankruptcy four years ago before Parker and Stone stepped in to buy it. He reportedly paid $3.1 million for the restaurant and spent an additional $40 million on renovations.
earlier this year, The duo signed a historic $1.5 billion deal with Paramount for the streaming rights to their long-running animated comedy show.
