A strange accident with Miss Panama Ismar Herrera major spectacle Has gone viral.
Herrera took the stage on Saturday last event Miss Grand International 2025 Bangkok, ThailandAmong 76 other contestants. At one point, participants were hoping that their country would be called, so that they could be named one of the 22 finalists in the competition.
When host Matthew Dean was announcing the finalists, he called out Miss Paraguay, who was represented by Cecilia Romero. Although Herrera clapped in excitement and walked to the front, it appeared she did not hear who the announced finalists were, as the audience fell silent.
Before walking on the runway, she posed for a while and once again looked at the crowd and smiled. However, the Dean took steps to correct the error.
“Ah, I beg your pardon, I announced Miss Grand Paraguay,” she said, resulting in a continued awkward silence between the contestants.

Romero then walked down the runway, while Herrera went back to her place with the rest of the group, who had not yet been announced as finalists.
After that, 10 more contestants were called to complete the group of 22 finalists, but Herrera was not one of them.
At X, many people said they felt bad for Herrera’s onstage mistake. He also questioned whether he misheard the host due to the language barrier.
One wrote: “What an embarrassing moment! That poor girl misunderstood, she thought the name called was hers – she mistook Panama for Paraguay – and walked away.” “But the blame wasn’t even on the host, it was just a misunderstanding. What a moment!”
Another tweeted: “Poor girl, the accent got her confused.”
Herrera spoke about the viral incident moments later, according to daily Mail, “These things happen. It was a mistake and it’s a competition,” he said.
“You have to know how to lose and recognize the victories of others.”
