PM Modi wishes Guru Charan Yatra

New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his warm wishes on the occasion of Guru Charan Yatra, citing the eternal teachings and spiritual legacy of Sri Guru Gobind Singh and Mata Sahib Kaur.

He urged the citizens, especially those living on the yatra route, to participate in this spiritual pilgrimage and visit the holy ‘Jore Sahib’.

Responding to Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s post on Twitter, PM Modi said: “Guru Charan Yatra will deepen our connect with the great ideals of Sri Guru Gobind Singh-Ji and Mata Sahib Kaur-Ji. I urge the people of those areas to come and have darshan of the holy ‘Jor Sahib’.”

The Union Minister said, “Today, I feel humbled that my family will hand over the safety of the holy relics to the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee. Today, October 22, 2025, a special Kirtan Samagam will be organized at Gurdwara Moti Bagh, where devotees will be able to have darshan of the holy Jor Sahib.”

The sacred Jor Sahib will then be taken in Guru Charan Yatra and permanently placed at the birthplace of Dasham Pita at Takht Sri Patna Sahib, where devotees can offer their obeisance and darshan.

“Guru Charan Yatra will start from Gurdwara Moti Bagh on October 23 and will reach Faridabad by night. On October 24, it will go to Faridabad to Agra, on 25 to Bareilly, on 26 to Manghapur, on 27 to Lucknow, on 28 to Kanpur, on 29 to Prayagraj, on 30 to Varanasi to Sasaram and on 31 to Sasaram. Reach Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh, Patna Sahib; and on November 1 In the morning, it will reach Takht Sri Patna Sahib, which is the starting point of the Yatra. Will mark the completion,” said Union Minister Puri.

In the custody of Union minister Puri’s family for nearly three centuries, the sacred shoes worn by Guru Gobind Singh and his wife Mata Sahib Kaur have now found a new home – Takht Sri Patna Sahib, the birthplace of the tenth Sikh Guru.
