Shahdol (Madhya Pradesh), October 22 In a tragic incident that shook the quiet village of Balbahra in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, a horrific attack took the lives of two brothers and left the third struggling for survival.
The attack was carried out by a gang of eight to ten criminals on the morning of October 21 at an auto parts shop under the jurisdiction of Keshawahi police station.
The community is grappling with shock and grief as authorities attempt to determine the circumstances behind this brutal act. The victims, identified as the Tiwari brothers – Rakesh, Rahul and Satish – were ambushed in a carefully planned attack.
Rakesh met his tragic end at the scene, while Rahul, despite desperate efforts to save him, succumbed to his wounds while receiving medical care.
The youngest, Satish, is clinging to life at Shahdol Medical College Hospital, where his condition is said to be critical. Rahul’s dying declaration has emerged as an important element in the police investigation, yielding important clues.
On the basis of his testimony, a case has been registered against the named culprits. Although the exact motive is kept secret, whispers of a deep-rooted personal vendetta are spreading among the locals.
SDOP (Dhanpuri) Vikas Pandey told IANS, “We have arrested several suspects including the main accused Anurag Sharma and the investigation is progressing rapidly.”
Considering the seriousness of the incident, Shahdol Superintendent of Police has taken decisive action by re-assigning Keshwahi police post in-charge amid suggestions of inspection failures.
Police units are conducting raids in the area to capture the remaining fugitives. The villagers blocked National Highway No. 43 until the Superintendent of Police took action against the station in-charge.
Additional officers have been deployed and patrols have been increased to prevent further unrest. Community leaders are demanding swift justice and stronger security to avoid future tragedies. The police have registered a case of murder against all the accused and started investigation.
According to the police, there was a dispute going on between Tiwari and Sharma family regarding land since 2021. Injured Rahul Tiwari recorded a video on his mobile phone before dying, in which he took the names of the accused.
