Thomas Frank issues injury update to key defender ahead of Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur Manager thomas frank has offered an update on the captain’s injury Christian Romero beyond his side Champions League match against AS Monaco On Wednesday.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Frank stressed that he was not worried about Romero – who was forced to withdraw from the match defeat against aston villa Although they did not know the timeframe for the Argentine defender’s return – due to an injury suffered during the warm-up.

“It’s an adductor strain. We’ll assess it further this week before confirming any time frames,” the Dane explained.

Frank said, “The latest thing is that he got some irritation in his knee after international duty. We are assessing it and working very hard to recover from it. We will know more day by day.”

Spurs are struggling with a minor injury crisis, with nine senior players currently sidelined following Romero’s injury.

While he will be out until the end of the season, should the rest of the injured players return soon, Romero and Udogi could potentially return to the team at the weekend.

Centre-back Kota Takai and midfielder Yves Bissouma could make their returns as early as November, while key striker Dominic Solanke is reportedly making “good progress” in his recovery. Dejan Kukučevski and Radu Dragusin – who himself suffered an ACL injury – are also aiming for a November return.

Spurs face Monaco at the Stade Louis II on Wednesday, with kick-off scheduled for 8pm BST. The match is Spurs’ third in the league stage campaign, with the Lilywhites starting the week 10th in the league stage table following a win against Villarreal and a draw against Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt.
