A taxi driver threw boiling hot cooking oil at a police officer before stopping himself in his garage.
footage shared by Northumbria Police Tuesday (October 21) showed officers entering the kitchen of Mohammed Sarfaraz’s home on January 17 with their Tasers.
PC Christopher Benn suffered severe burns when Sarafaz threw oil heated in a frying pan at two officers.
Sarfaraz then locked himself in the garage and officers used a battering ram to force entry. He was then Tasered and arrested.
Sarfaraz, of Kingston Park Road, repeatedly denied the attack but was found guilty at a trial on Monday (October 20). He has been jailed for nine years.
