New Delhi, October 21 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and wished him a happy Diwali and took tips to serve people with new energy.
In a post on Twitter, CM Gupta said, “Honored call on the world’s most popular leader and illustrious Prime Minister of India, Hon’ble Shri @NarendraModiji and extended his warm wishes for Diwali.”
He said, “The company and blessings of the respected Prime Minister inspire new energy and determination to serve Delhi with even greater dedication. Heartfelt thanks for your valuable time and guidance.”
Along with his family members, CM Gupta also took group photographs with PM Modi, who celebrated Diwali aboard India’s indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, a symbolic fusion of celebration and maritime pride.
Earlier on Tuesday, on the occasion of Police Martyrs’ Day, CM Gupta paid tribute to the law enforcers. “Humble tribute to all the brave police personnel who made supreme sacrifice in the sacred duty of protecting the motherland and serving the people. These sentinels of dedication, discipline and courage are the true guardians of the country’s identity,” the CM said in a post on social media.
He said, “Their loyalty and dedication will continue to inspire future generations on the path of service and duty. Every sentinel adorned in uniform has an unwavering resolve for the security of India.”
CM Gupta also posted a video on his X handle, in which he reiterated his government’s commitment to clean the Yamuna.
He said, “Under the guidance of Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the Delhi Government is working on a war footing to keep the Yamuna clean, healthy and free flowing. Every day, every effort is part of our resolve to bring the pure stream of Yamuna back to its life-giving form.”
On Sunday, he visited Vasudev Ghat on the banks of Yamuna near Kashmiri Gate to inspect the preparations for the upcoming Chhath Mahaparva and directed officials to upgrade the facilities for devotees, an official statement said.
During his visit, he reviewed the ongoing works related to cleanliness, leveling, lighting, security and facilities for devotees and issued necessary instructions to the officials, the official statement said.
The Chief Minister said that the Delhi Government is fully committed to ensure that this year’s Chhath festival is celebrated in a grander, safer and more organized manner than ever before.
Delhi Development and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra was also present during the inspection.
