Patna, Oct 21 (IANS) As Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to launch his assembly election campaign on Tuesday, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders have expressed confidence that the alliance will once again form the government in the state, while also criticizing the Grand Alliance for internal discord.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to address two major election rallies in Muzaffarpur on the same day, starting his campaign from Meenapur assembly constituency. The first rally will be held at the playground of Meenapur High School, where he will address the public and highlight the achievements of his government.
Speaking to IANS, JDU spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is the unanimous leader of the NDA and under whose leadership the elections are being held, has continuously inspected various development projects throughout 2025, monitored their progress and laid the foundation for new works. Now, he will appeal directly to the people in the open and show how we have brought development to every section of the society.”
Taking aim at the Grand Alliance, he said, “Their leaders are embroiled in internal feuds. Instead of leading, they are engrossed in family matters. Someone is roaming around in his grandmother’s name, while someone brings along his father and mother. This is not politics, it has become their family affair.”
BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal also expressed confidence in the prospects of NDA. Speaking to IANS, he said, “The first phase of the election campaign is starting from today, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is inaugurating it. After this, on October 24, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay tribute to late Karpoori Thakur and honor him as a mass leader, which will be the formal launch of the NDA campaign. While Tejashwi and Rahul Gandhi are busy claiming the title of ‘Jannanayak’, the public is waiting for the ‘Jannanayak’ It’s a title.” It was understood that the return of ‘Jungle Raj’ had to be stopped. NDA will form the government once again.”
Referring to RJD’s ticket distribution, Jaiswal said, “Our Home Minister Amit Shah rightly said in Saran that RJD started distributing tickets from Shahabuddin’s family. This shows where their focus is. Their arbitrary ticket distribution proves that RJD wants to bring back ‘Jungle Raj’, but the people of Bihar have seen through them. NDA will form the government with a decisive majority.”
Commenting on the elections, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who is currently in Bihar, also expressed confidence of winning the elections.
Speaking to IANS, he said, “The Prime Minister is our supreme leader, the leader of the NDA and wherever elections are held, his programs are going on. Bihar is eagerly waiting for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Preparations are in full swing and the NDA is continuously moving towards victory.”
