“I sound like a broken record but I see it floating around again! I know people say ignore it but really, why should I… I will speak out,” she wrote, adding, “Please respect Stephen who is extremely disappointed in not being able to dance.”

The actor, best known for playing soap villain Paul Robinson, had to sit out the competition in early October after his doctor advised him to rest after suffering dizziness, but fans still speculated it was a cover-up for Buswell.

Buswell addressed the claims in an Instagram post last week, writing: “Just to clarify, I have a lot of people messaging me thinking this is to cover up my not being able to dance?”

“First of all, we wouldn’t lie, especially about someone being sick. And second of all, I’m fine. Yes, I’m pregnant, but I’m also very capable and feeling great!”

She continued: “Thirdly, there are certain things that happen if a professional becomes ill or injured.”
