New Delhi, Oct 20 (IANS) On the occasion of Diwali, Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh visited the strategically important Ladakh sector to celebrate the festival with Indian Air Force (IAF) and Indian Army (IA) personnel deployed in the region.
His visit underlined the unwavering commitment of the armed forces towards national security, even amid the festive celebrations. Interacting with the troops deployed at high altitude forward posts, Air Chief Marshal Singh praised their professionalism, resilience and dedication in securing India’s northern borders under some of the most challenging operational conditions.
During the visit he said, “Your alertness and readiness in these extreme areas is a testament to the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines our armed forces.”
The Ladakh sector, which includes sensitive areas along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), remains the focal point of India’s defense posture.
The presence of the Air Chief during Diwali was both symbolic and morale-boosting, sending the message that the nation stands firmly behind its defenders, especially those deployed in remote and inaccessible areas.
Air Chief Marshal Singh also acknowledged the sacrifices of service members celebrating the festival away from home and extended festive greetings to all personnel and their families.
His visit included interaction with air warriors and ground staff, where he reviewed operational preparedness and appreciated the synergy between the Indian Air Force and IA in maintaining border security.
This Diwali visit follows the tradition of senior defense leaders spending the festival with frontline troops, a gesture that strengthens the bond between command and personnel.
It also reflects the Indian Air Force’s increasing emphasis on high altitude operations and integrated defense strategies in the Himalayan region.
As lamps were lit in homes across the country, the glow of duty and patriotism shone in Ladakh, where the presence of Air Chief Marshal Singh reminded that for India’s armed forces, every festival is a moment of resolve, honor and national pride.
