Amaravati, October 20 (IANS) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu celebrated Diwali with his wife Bhuvaneshwari by bursting crackers at their home in Undavalli here on Monday night.
After performing the puja, the couple lit lamps and burst crackers in the courtyard.
Chandrababu Naidu took to ‘X’ to share his views. He posted, “Festivals are part of our culture and traditions. Specially, our Telugu people celebrate festivals with great grandeur and enthusiasm. Every festival has its own background. We celebrate Diwali as a reminder of the victory of good over evil.”
“I celebrated Diwali, the festival of dispelling darkness and spreading light, with my family members at my residence in Undavalli. I prayed to God that all the people of the state be well… May the lights of Diwali be eternal… and that every day be a festival for the people. Once again I wish everyone a happy Diwali, God’s blessings and people’s support for the efforts being made to fill the state with light.” The light of progress,” he said.
On Sunday, the Chief Minister along with his wife had attended Diwali celebrations at Punnami Ghat on the banks of Krishna river in Vijayawada.
He also visited Besant Road in Vijayawada and inquired from people about the reduction in prices of goods with the recent GST reforms. He asked traders about the changes in prices after GST reforms.
The Chief Minister interacted with small traders, including women vendors, and asked about their income during the festive season. He spoke to Durga Rao, a street vendor who sold jute bags and V. Krishna Rao, another vendor who sold shoes. He asked about the reduction in the price of shoes after GST reform.
Participating in Diwali celebrations, the Chief Minister said that Andhra Pradesh should be developed as an Artificial Intelligence hub. He said that the proposed Google data center in Visakhapatnam will provide services to many countries.
He claimed that the NDA government was able to rapidly bring the state’s finances back on track within 16 months. He said that it is implementing many welfare schemes under the Super Six programme.
