Jennifer Aniston’s can have a career Launched by FriendBut even after its success, she wanted more practical items rather than lavish gifts.
The 56-year-old Emmy-winning actor is best known for playing spoiled rich girl Rachel Green beloved nbc sitcomwhich aired for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004.
Speaking on a new episode of Dax Shepard’s chair specialist podcastAniston recalled that she requested new equipment, aside from contract negotiations, from NBC’s then-president, Warren Littlefield, following the show’s success.
“I said, ‘Would you please get me a washer and a dryer?’ And he wrote it on a napkin,” she remembered.
She said, “I just keep hearing that all these actors are like cars and these things after they meet at work.” “And Friend happened, and we were, I don’t know, on the front lines of something, and I was like, ‘Where’s my – what are all these actors getting these gifts for the show and stuff?’


“Gifts! Actor treats,” she laughed, describing the items the actors received as “elaborate” and “very expensive gifts.”
“And [Littlefield] It was like, ‘Okay, what do you want?’ And I was like, ‘Really?'” Aniston recalled. After taking a moment to think, she told him she needed a washer and a dryer, confirming that he kept his promise to provide.
He also explained how he finally got the role after several failed TV show pilots.
“I had reached the final stage [of auditions]” she said, adding that she later ran into Littlefield at a gas station in Los Angeles.
He said, “I might have given her the headshot, or I might have said something like, ‘Please cast me. Please.’
Aniston co-led the late Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc in the seminal comedy about a close-knit group of friends living in New York City.

“It completely revealed who I was. It was pure joy,” she said. “I looked forward to it every day. I couldn’t wait to go to work. I couldn’t wait to see those guys. I couldn’t wait to read the scripts – we’d shoot the show every Friday night, and right after we finished, we’d have the new script in my dressing room for Monday morning. I was just as excited to find out what was going to happen as I’m sure the audience was.”
