RSS insults Priyank Kharge only to gain top post, to please Rahul Gandhi: BJP MP Siroya

Bengaluru, Oct 20 (IANS) Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is being nationally embarrassed by his son and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge, for his sharp attack on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, stated Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha Member Lahar Singh Siroya on Monday.

Speaking to IANS, Siroya asserted that Priyank Kharge’s statements were an attempt to “brighten his political career prospects” and “to appease Rahul Gandhi” by using language favored by the former Congress president.

“Such comments are inappropriate during the Diwali festival. First of all, I wish everyone a happy Diwali. It seems that Priyank Kharge, in an attempt to strengthen his political career and position himself for the post of Chief Minister or Deputy Chief Minister, is using the kind of language that Rahul Gandhi appreciates,” he alleged.

He said, “Priyank Kharge, being the son of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, is displaying arrogance by commenting on topics related to his department and making irresponsible statements. His baseless allegations against the RSS are unfortunate, as these matters do not fall under his jurisdiction.”

The BJP MP cited the service of the RSS during various national crises and its significant sacrifices for the nation.

Siroya claimed that Karnataka ministers are only working to keep Rahul Gandhi satisfied, but “in the process, he is embarrassing his father,” whose position as Congress president will force him to face consequences at the national level.

Drawing a parallel, Siroya alleged that just as Priyank Kharge has been involved in land deals in the name of trusts, he is now “shaming Mallikarjun Kharge, who himself makes allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

He advised the minister to look into the happenings in his family, claiming it was steeped in “corruption and land encroachment”.

Siroya alleged, “His family is embroiled in corruption and land encroachment cases. Mallikarjun Kharge is busy pleasing Rahul Gandhi and this attitude has harmed both national politics and Karnataka. The people of Karnataka will not tolerate a senior leader subordinating himself like this.”

On the issue of caste census, he said, “It is time for all political parties to consider how far they are willing to go to divide the country on caste and religious lines. A similar attempt was made in 1994 during the tenure of former Chief Minister Veerappa Moily, when he tried to divide the society on caste lines. As a result, the Congress was pushed to the third position in the state elections.”

He alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was pushing the issue to ensure that no other leader, including Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, gets a chance to become the Chief Minister after him.

Congress will face a big blow in the coming elections. The BJP leader claimed that out of the 28 constituencies in Bengaluru, especially within the Greater Bengaluru Authority limits, the party will not be able to win a single seat.

This is not just vote-bank politics; Siroya said, this is such politics which will sink the Congress party.
