Bhubaneswar, Oct 20 (IANS) Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik and other leaders greeted people on the occasion of Diwali festival.
Addressing his ex, Governor Kambhampati wrote on Monday, “Warm wishes and greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of #Diwali. The festival of Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and righteousness over evil. On this auspicious occasion, I pray for the happiness, peace and prosperity of all. Happy Diwali.”
CM Majhi has also greeted the people of Odisha on this occasion and appealed to everyone to celebrate pollution free and green Diwali this year.
In a video message, Majhi said, “I extend my good wishes and greetings to the people of Odisha on the occasion of the festival of light and happiness. The light of knowledge saves human beings from the darkness of ignorance. The festival of Diwali inspires us to welcome a beautiful and progressive future with new hope, new dreams and a new purpose.”
He further said that with the holy festival of Diwali, the darkness of untruth and injustice is removed and the light of truth and justice shines in our lives.
Advocating for Green Diwali, the Chief Minister said, “It is a festival of bright experience of hope, faith and strong commitment of the people. Let us celebrate a pollution-free, green Diwali this year while respecting nature and environment. Let us promote the light of compassion, forgiveness and love in humanity amidst the darkness of ego and demonic qualities.”
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and LOP Patnaik wished the people a happy Diwali festival.
