sky sports pundit roy keen Have requested virgil van dijk To see the “man in the mirror” when he questioned the Dutchman’s role liverpoolThe champions have suffered a recent poor form as they lost 2-1 Manchester United,
Van Dijk was partly to blame for conceding the opener within the first few minutes at Anfield, and although the hosts rallied and put considerable pressure on United, the visitors ultimately managed to win there for the first time since 2016.
The Liverpool captain stated that his team were “rushing too much” and “conceded the second goal very carelessly”, adding that “there was still a lot of football to be played”. [and score] And we didn’t”.
But former United midfielder Keane revealed that Van Dijk now needs to question his part at Liverpool, “conceding too many goals”, adding that he would be “looking at him and asking ‘What are you doing?'”.
Keane explained: “When you’re a center half and you’re a big player, last year we were about who would stay and he signed a big contract, you’re giving up a lot of goals. I’d look at him and ask ‘What are you doing?’
“Especially as a big leader of the team. A few years ago we talked about United parking the bus here and we were critical. Now he’s scored two today and two last year and you’re centre-half.
“Always start with the person you see in the mirror. Van Dijk, if you’re a center half and your team is suddenly conceding a lot of goals, and there are new people coming into your club, you have to take a good look at yourself and think ‘Am I really helping people?'”

The result is Liverpool’s fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions, with the Reds last winning against Southampton in the League Cup on 23 September.
While Van Dijk said that Liverpool “still created a lot of chances to score” and were probably unlucky to lose, Keane pointed out that the Reds were “forcing things” due to nervousness.
He added, “There’s nerves in Liverpool and that’s on the back of three defeats, they’re only human and when you lose three games, doubt creeps in and you think ‘Are we going to lose again?’
“You still thought Liverpool would get the job done. Careless decision-making is costing Liverpool dearly.”
The defeat leaves the champions fourth in the Premier League and four points behind leaders Arsenal, with their next game in the capital to face Brentford on October 25.
