Hyderabad, October 19 (IANS) A bullet was recovered from a passenger at the Hyderabad Metro station here. Police gave this information.
A 9 mm bullet was found in the bag of a youth at Moosapet metro station on Saturday night. The passenger was identified as Mohammad, a native of Bihar, who works in a construction unit here.
The incident came to light when Mohammed put his bag for screening before boarding the metro. Security personnel at the station spotted the bullet while checking luggage and immediately informed higher authorities.
The passenger was detained and handed over to the police. A case was registered at Kukatpally police station on the complaint of Metro security officials.
Police launched an investigation to find out how the bullet came into contact with the passenger. A police officer said that they are interrogating the youth from Pragati Nagar.
There was a stabbing incident at Moosapet metro station last month. A 19-year-old girl got injured in an attack by her boyfriend.
The 20-year-old accused allegedly stabbed the woman in the stomach with a blade in a fit of rage. Police investigation revealed that the accused was upset because she stayed away from him due to his alcohol addiction.
According to the police, both of them had studied together till class 10th in a government school in Moosapet and had come into a relationship. They continued their friendship even after leaving studies due to financial reasons. Recently the relationship turned sour when the accused got addicted to alcohol and due to his addiction she started staying away from him.
Meanwhile, police in Telangana’s Nizamabad city continued their search for the accused who allegedly killed a police constable.
A constable was allegedly stabbed to death by a habitual criminal after he was caught in a bike theft case in Nizamabad on the night of October 17.
Constable E. Pramod, 42, went with his nephew to arrest Riyaz. Pramod was riding the bike while his nephew was sitting behind and the accused was made to sit between them.
The 24 year old accused suddenly attacked Pramod with a knife. When Pramod’s nephew tried to stop him, the accused stabbed him too. Two of Riyaz’s associates came on a bike and took him away. Although a sub-inspector tried to stop them, they attacked him too.
When Pramod was taken to the hospital, the doctors declared him dead. Pramod’s nephew was undergoing treatment.
