ruben dias believe that erling holland have the same mentality Cristiano Ronaldo When it comes to scoring goals.
Vipul Haaland fired twice more Manchester City won 2-0 everton In the Premier League on Saturday.
This brought the Norwegian’s tally of goals in the season for club and country to 23 goals in just 13 matches.
He has failed to score in only one of those games and has now scored in 11 in a row.
Overall, the 25-year-old has scored 138 runs in 155 matches for City, 96 in 105 matches in the Premier League.
City defender Dias has no doubt that Haaland has the same hunger for goals as five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, his Portugal international teammate.
“It’s a good reflection of his mental state, (it’s) very similar,” Dias said. “At the end of the day, everybody wants to score, but they both have the ability to keep scoring.
“Everyone has their own special ability – and they score goals. We are just happy that Erling is in this moment and we wish him to continue to do so.
“We want to keep the pressure on him because we want him to break records that have never been broken before.
“But, as a team, we want to play at a level we haven’t reached before, so we want to continue to improve.”
Haaland’s double came in the space of five minutes either side of the hour mark, ultimately breaking the resolve of a well-organised Everton side.
He now has 11 goals in eight league games this season, but having scored a record 36 goals in his first season at the club, Dias is hesitant to say he is in the best form of his life.
Dias said: “Erling has already broken the Premier League goal record, is it better than ever? I don’t really know. He has always been brilliant and is at a very special level.”
Haaland was playing a calm game until he broke the deadlock with a header from a Nico O’Reilly cross. His second came from a Savinho lay-off soon after.
Everton defender James Tarkowski said: “I think, in the first half, we managed it very well.
“He is not someone who is always involved in build-up play and linking up, he just wants to be in the area scoring goals.
“In the first half, I don’t remember him having too many chances, if any. But, as a world-class striker, if he gets just one chance he thrives.”
