chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitted that he sympathized Ange PostecoglouHe was dismissed just minutes into Nottingham Forest’s 3–0 defeat to Chelsea at the City Ground.
Postecoglou was relieved of his duties after less than six weeks in charge. He failed to win any of his eight matches at the club.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis Left his seat during the second half with Forest trailing 2–0 and Postecoglou’s dismissal was confirmed 19 minutes after full time.
An encouraging first half for Forest was forgotten six minutes into the second period when Josh Acheampong scored his first senior goal before Pedro Neto fired a free-kick beyond Matze Sales.
The visitors made things worse for Postecoglou when Reece James drilled home a corner to hand Forest a fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions and end the 60-year-old’s short spell as Forest manager.
Maresca shared his sympathies with Postecoglou in the post-match press conference.
He said: “I haven’t spoken to Ange. I haven’t seen her but just said I’m very sorry about her.”
“But we said many times that this is a business where if you don’t win the game, the outcome will be exactly the same for all of us. So, sorry about that.”

However, Maresca is not worried about his team’s discipline.
He said: “We can do better in terms of red cards, it’s already a 3-0 mistake on a yellow card. We can avoid that.”

Maresca served a one-match touchline ban as punishment for missing the match against Liverpool after he ran down the touchline to celebrate his team’s winner.
The 45-year-old said he prefers being in the dugout but praised the way his team responded after the break.
He said, “It feels terrible to be there. To be honest, I prefer to be in the dugout. My message to the ball at half-time was that we are good, the ball is not good enough.”
“We can avoid unnecessary mistakes. We looked loose in the buildup which was not good enough.”
