16 school teams will participate in the semi-finals of Indian Navy Quiz Think-25 on 4 November

New Delhi, Oct 18 (IANS) Four school teams from all four zones will compete in the semi-finals of the Indian Naval Quiz, Think-25, on November 4 at the Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala, Kerala, a Defense Ministry official said on Saturday.

Out of these 16 teams, eight teams will advance to the grand finale to be held on November 5, the official said in a statement.

The zonal rounds of Navy Quiz were held on 13 and 14 October. The zonal saw the top teams from all four zones (North, South, East and West) compete for a place in the semi-finals.

The schools from the eastern region selected to participate in the semi-finals are: PM Shri JNV, Samastipur (Bihar), Shiksha Niketan School, East Singhbhum (Jharkhand), DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar (Odisha) and Santragachi Kedarnath Institution, Howrah (West Bengal).

From the West Zone, the qualifiers are: Cambridge Court High School, Jaipur (Rajasthan); Jayshree Periwal High School, Jaipur (Rajasthan), St. Anthony’s Senior Secondary School, Udaipur (Rajasthan) and Subodh Public School, Jaipur (Rajasthan).

From the Northern region, the qualifiers are: Dr. Virendra Swarup Shiksha Kendra, Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh); Dewan Public School, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh); Spring Dale Senior School, Amritsar (Punjab) and KL International School, Meerut (Uttar Pradesh).

The qualifiers from the South Zone are: Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Chennai (Tamil Nadu); Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chennai (Tamil Nadu); Sainik School, Kodagu (Karnataka) and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Kannur (Kerala).

ThINQ-25 provides a forum for intellectual exchange and competition. Eligible participants will get a unique opportunity to visit the state-of-the-art training facilities at INA.

A Defense Ministry official said that till September, 35,470 teams had registered for ‘THINQ 2025’.

Targeting students from classes 10 to 12, the quiz is designed to intellectually challenge young minds while providing a unique insight into the life, traditions and core values ​​of the Indian Navy.

The journey of this quiz competition began on June 10 with the registration process, generating keen interest and enthusiasm among students and educational institutions across the country to be a part of this prestigious event, the statement said.

Earlier last month, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh interacted with students at the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of Navy Children School (NCS), Delhi and urged them to maintain a strong sense of national pride in all their endeavours.

Addressing the students, the Defense Minister encouraged them to dream purposefully and achieve their goals with honesty.

He called on them to remain humble but strong and fulfill their duties with integrity and honor in any capacity.

Emphasizing on the character development of children in their formative years, the Defense Minister appreciated the role of NCS in shaping the character and aspirations of the students through discipline, service and patriotism.

He acknowledged the important role of schools under the Ministry of Defense in nation building and emphasized that these institutions are not just centers of learning but platforms that inculcate the values ​​of leadership, integrity and responsibility in the next generation.

During the programme, the Ministry of Defense was given a brief overview of the vision and achievements of NCS, with the students sharing their experiences of how the school is playing a central role in their overall development.

The students also presented handmade symbols of respect to the Defense Minister along with a coffee table book and crest.
