Patna, October 18 (IANS) Union Food Processing Minister and Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas chief Chirag Paswan said on Saturday that the political environment in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections is completely in favor of the NDA.

Speaking to media persons at Patna airport, the Union Minister said, “We have successfully negotiated the seat-sharing arrangement by respecting each other’s strengths. We are trying to strengthen the alliance even further.”

He thanked BJP and JD-U for their cooperative stance during the seat-sharing discussions.

“I am grateful to the big parties – BJP and JD-U – who have shown big heart and given respectable seats to other alliance partners. We have already declared the names of candidates for all the 243 seats in Bihar,” he said.

He said the NDA’s aim is to field strong, winnable candidates in every assembly constituency.

Union Minister Paswan said, “Our aim is to ensure victory on every seat. The distribution of seats has been done keeping in mind the winning ability of the candidates.”

He also announced the formal launch of the NDA’s election campaign in the poll-bound state Bihar.

“We have started our election campaign in Bihar. I am going to attend the nomination filing program of my state party president Raju Tiwari. Leaders of other NDA parties have also started their campaigns. We are aiming for 100 per cent strike rate, as we achieved in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Taking aim at the opposition, Union Minister Paswan said that the Grand Alliance (RJD, Congress, Left, Vikassheel Insaan Party) is fighting among themselves instead of paying attention to the people of Bihar.

He commented, “On the other hand, the Grand Alliance is in complete disarray. They have not finalized their seat-sharing arrangements. They don’t even know how many seats they are contesting, and many of their candidates are contesting against each other.”

When asked about the opposition’s claims that Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav will form the next government in Bihar, Union Minister Paswan rejected them outright.

He said, “Who is saying that Tejashwi Yadav is going to form the government in Bihar? Even his own allies in the grand alliance are not accepting him as their leader. There is a lot of confusion among them. I don’t think the people of Bihar will accept such an alliance.”

He also criticized the opposition India faction, saying the alliance plagued by internal divisions and lack of leadership clarity cannot provide stable governance.

He said, “If Tejashwi Yadav still claims that he will form the government in Bihar, it only shows the level of confusion in the opposition Bharat faction. Such an alliance cannot give clear leadership or direction to Bihar.”
