Bengaluru, Oct 18 (IANS) Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw has said the gourmet cuisine provided to passengers is disappointing and has sought a customer survey. The observation has sparked debate on social media.
Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw posted a picture of the menu on social media on Friday and said, “This is what IndiGo calls gourmet cuisine for 6E stretch passengers! I love their regulars! Oberoi should introspect on this uninviting and tasteless menu – please do a customer survey and I bet you will like it 100 per cent.”
The menu included dishes like German Lentil and Feta Salad with Beetroot Galouti, Lavash with Cream Cheese Curd Dip, Thandai Tres Leches Cake, Mixed Nuts, Pink Salt and Black Pepper.
The post has sparked an interesting debate on social media regarding on-air recipes.
Rahul K said, “I’m typing this just after deboarding the Air India flight. Tasted the hot pav bhaji in the air.. sometimes simplicity done right can make any day ‘tasty’.”
Stocklernr88 said, “So the survey is not a bad thing as it is designed in the current Karnataka context, I believe. If simple taste bud preference requires a survey, then I am sure a state with so many other use cases deserves a survey.”
Ritwik R suggests, “I used to work at Honeywell, 80 percent of any aircraft is Honeywell, including the climate control unit. I know it can only filter out about 90 percent of the virus; the other 10 percent is still transmitted, so I avoid eating during the flight, and prefer to fast during the flight.”
Another user, Rajesh, said, “IndiGo has almost a monopoly; they won’t listen!”
