Britain has some legendary names who have ruled the light heavyweight division in the past – including Joe Calzaghe and John Conteh – and Lee thinks Whittaker can reach similar heights in the years to come.
Whittaker and Lee joined forces earlier this year ahead of a rematch with Liam Cameron after their first fight ended in a controversial draw when both men fell over the top rope.
Whittaker performed much better in the second fight and stopped Cameron in the second round to put an emphatic end to their rivalry.

But he may now have his work cut out for him against Gavazzi, who has tasted just one defeat in 20 professional bouts.

Gavazzi has spent the majority of his career fighting in his native Germany, but he has no fear in traveling to the UK to face Whittaker in front of his home fans as he looks to advance to the title race at 175 pounds.
“I’m focused on this fight,” Gavzi said. “I know that when I win this fight, my life will be [will] Change.”
Dmitry Bivol currently holds three of the four light-heavyweight world titles, while the other is held by David Benavidez. If Whittaker is successful in his fight with Gavazzi, he is sure to move up in the WBC rankings and could be in good position for a title shot in 2026.
