mikel arteta has confirmed this martin odegaard Latest injury will keep him out for “weeks” armoryCaptain of.

Odegaard has been withdrawn before half-time three times in a row Premier League begins and Now he has to stay out of the field for a long time due to knee problem.,

“It will take several weeks,” Arteta said ahead of Saturday’s clash with Fulham. “There’s no definite date for his return, but his development is going well. Very unfortunate with what’s been happening to him this season and his injuries, but yes, I think he’ll be back in a few weeks.”

Asked when the Norwegian might be fit to return, Arteta said: “It could be (after the next international break), but we have to see how he progresses, how the knee heals, how he manages after the next stages of his rehabilitation, so it’s too early to answer.”

Odegaard was sidelined for two weeks last month with a shoulder problem and is the club’s fourth player to be currently sidelined with a knee injury, joining Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Nonny Madueke on the treatment table.

Arteta provided some positive updates for Havertz and Madueke, who are both making progress on their rehabilitation and getting closer to a return.

While lamenting his captain’s misfortune, Arteta praised Odegaard’s mental strength in the situation.

“I think he’s in a really good place,” Arteta said. “Obviously disappointed how this happened.

“The good thing is he does everything he can to prevent injuries. It’s very, very difficult to prevent the injuries he had. So it’s something you have to take the burden off yourself, and that’s it. Then he can’t afford to be in a different mindset.

“He’s the captain, he needs to push the standards. He needs to be the example. When you don’t have a choice, you’re a father. You’ve got to take care of your kids. You’ve got to be there. You’re good. You’re tired. You’ve got to be there. That’s his responsibility in the team.”

Martin Zubimendi and Ben White also missed training on Thursday, but Arteta dismissed fears of further injury problems, insisting they were absent to manage their load.

“We are monitoring all the players and giving each of them a specific menu to make sure they are in the best condition,” Arteta said.

In a boost for the Gunners, summer signing Piero Hincapie is back in training, with Arteta keen to “get him up to speed” where he can operate regularly.
