The text claims to be from a parcel mail and invites the reader to click on a link to update their details in order to receive the package. Users who do so will be asked to enter their personal information.
The member of the public was familiar with SMS Blasters and became suspicious of 31-year-old Kong Jie Chen when he saw him walking on stage with a large suitcase.
Police were alerted and confronted Chen, who was arrested at the scene.
Chen, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 24 weeks Imprisonment At London Crown Court on Wednesday (October 15).
