Due to the cyclonic circulation of upper air, a low pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area, off the Kerala and Karnataka coasts, around October 18.

The system is expected to move west-northwestwards and strengthen into a depression within the next 48 hours.
