Bengaluru, Oct 15 (IANS) Responding to Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw’s social media post criticizing Bengaluru’s infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said with such comments she has ‘betrayed’ the city which had given her immense support.

Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Shivakumar, who is also in-charge of Bengaluru development, said, “Where was she for the last 25 years? Bengaluru has given her the most for its growth. This is a betrayal of the city. Bengaluru has employed lakhs of people and helped entrepreneurs grow up. Those who criticize should remember how much land and support governments have given them.”

Shivakumar further challenged, “Let all companies disclose how they are using their CSR funds. I will not question anyone. Everyone should be patient. If their main focus is to threaten us through tweets, let them do it.”

He said, “We have a progressive government. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has said that Bengaluru is a global city, these people are going against his statement and working against the state. This is not China; this is democracy. In China, they can take land and build roads as per their wish. In Karnataka, this cannot be done.”

Shivakumar said, “Will they give up their land for road widening? No one will. They should remember where they grew up, where they worked, and should not forget the path that brought them success. Their roots and their development are in Bengaluru.”

On filling the potholes, Shivakumar said: “We are doing whatever we can. We have created separate municipalities for Mahadevapura and KR Puram because the IT hub is located here. These 50 wards can use their own revenue without sharing it with other areas. We know the population here and their issues. That is why we took this step. The Rs 1,500 crore revenue from IT can be used for the development of these wards. did Can go. “Governance through GBG (Greater Bengaluru), we have created five municipal bodies in Bengaluru.”

Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw’s viral post on poor road infrastructure and waste management in Bengaluru has once again triggered a debate over the Congress-led government’s handling of the IT city’s infrastructure.

Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Shivkumar, IT and BT Minister Priyank Kharge, Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil and Labor Minister Santosh Lad, while claiming that the government will resolve the issue, took a dig at Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw and challenged her to raise her voice against the Central government.

Minister Kharge said that if the governments in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh were criticized, people would be put in “jail” and labeled as “anti-state”.

Reacting to the development of ministers taking a dig at Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw for raising the issue of poor road infrastructure and waste management in Bengaluru, Karnataka BJP has termed the insult to the industry leaders as an insult to the state.

BJP state president and MLA BY Vijayendra said, “The government in Bengaluru is facing strong criticism from the people over infrastructure. Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw are our pride. They are giving statements against them. When BS Yediyurappa was the CM of the state, former Infosys CFO Mohan Das Pai had criticized the BJP-led government. Immediately, Pai was called Yediyurappa And a discussion took place to find a solution for Bengaluru.”

Criticizing him, he said, “Whether it is Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw or Mohan Das Pai or any industry leader, whatever suggestions are being given should be taken in a positive spirit. Instead, if they are insulted, it is an insult to the state.”
