The John Lewis Beauty Advent Calendar for Mature Skin is my favorite

John Lewis’ beauty haul is a treasure trove of beauty brands both classic and trending, and I love that this shines through in their beauty advent calendar. Inside, you’ll find products from brands we love and trust, from Elemis and Elizabeth Arden to favorites Le Labo and buzz-worthy Laneige.

The retailer, unlike its competitors, has well balanced all beauty categories with skin care, body, hair, fragrances and makeup. liberty advent calendar leads the way with heavy skin care offerings, and Selfridges Calendar This year is full of makeup. Instead, the John Lewis calendar features excellent products from every category.

The skincare line-up is created to target the signs of ageing. Highlights include the 15ml luxury Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream (£38). boots.comI included it in my ranking Best Anti-Aging Day Cream For the second year in a row, because it instantly hydrates your skin. For your evening routine, try a full-size Medic8 Advanced Night Restore Rejuvenating Multi-Ceramide Night Cream (£60, Spacenk.com), to wake up with well-hydrated, smooth skin.

I found a ton to give your eyes a little extra sparkle. It’s a bit much, but there are three eye creams to choose from, including a full-size Clinique, which is full of eye creams (£26.25, lookfantastic.com) to prevent dark circles and puffiness.

To wake up tired eyes in the festive season rush, there’s also the Shiseido Vital Perfection Uplifting and Firming Express Eye Mask (£72, lookfantastic.comIf you want a full set of wavy lashes to match, I love The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum (£14.20). boots.com,

The calendar also provides the perfect balance of makeup. Staying with the eyes, I enjoyed the popular Trini London Eye2Eye Cream Eyeshadow (£20). johnlewis.com) in the suit-all chocolate shade “Wisdom”, as well as an expensive full-size Chantecaille Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara (£68, johnlewis.com) to really spoil you.

For your lips, there are a few options, including my favourite, the full-size Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Vixen Matte Revolution Lipstick (£29,). cultbeauty.co.uk) to paint the city red. It’s a close relative of the brand’s Matte Revolution Red Carpet Red (£29). johnlewis.com), which topped the IndieBest guide best red lipstickSo you know you are in good hands.

Hair-wise, I found a lot to give you smooth, shiny hair. I’m a big fan of Philip Kingsley products, and you get a travel-sized moisture-balancing shampoo and conditioner (£50, lookfantastic.com) is designed to hydrate dry hair. Another standout comes from the hairdresser of the moment, Larry King. Her Favorite Hair Oil (£28, cultbeauty.co.uk) is a true multi-tasker that can be used as a hair maskScalp hydrator and finishing product.

if it is Fragrance You are behind, you will be spoiled in terms of elections also. There are 5 miniatures to choose from, including the modern classic Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady Scenting Rose (£62, johnlewis.comMy favorite of the bunch is Le Labo de Noir 29 Eau de Parfum 15ml (£75). johnlewis.comThis woody scent is one of my all-time favourites, so it’s nice to see a relatively large bottle. A full-sized 100ml bottle costs £238, so it’s worth getting this mini at a discount.

The best part is that John Lewis hasn’t skimped on the body care products, which I feel are leaving a lot of calendars out this year. The highlight is a travel-sized, magnesium-rich Deep Sleep Beauty Soak (£28, marksandspencer.com) to help you relax body and mind before bed, and now the iconic, heavenly-scented Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Cream (£21, Spacenk.com) for nutrition from chest to toe.
