Jammu, October 14 (IANS) General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Western Command, Lieutenant General Manoj K. Katiyar said on Tuesday, if Pakistan tried to attack India in future, they would get a bigger reply than Operation Sindoor. Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a massive ex-servicemen rally here, Lt Gen Katiyar said, “While new technology has come from the 1965 war to Operation Sindoor, the courage of the Indian Army has not changed… Pakistan used a lot of drones recently, but no such strike was successful, even when they tried to attack Jammu airport and Pathankot airport. All their attacks were stopped by our anti-air guns. Gave.” He said, “If Pakistan tries to attack again, they will get a bigger response than Operation Sindoor.” The top army officer said that unless Pakistan’s mindset changes, it will continue to attack, and warned that there could be “Operation Sindoor 2.0”. He said that Operation Sindoor successfully destroyed Pakistani air bases and posts, but India is prepared for future attacks and will respond even more strongly than last time. The Western Command chief warned that future retaliation, dubbed “Operation Sindoor 2.0”, would be “fatal” if Pakistan continues to engage in terrorism. Operation Sindoor was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April and included targeted strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Lt Gen Katiyar stressed that Pakistan’s “way of thinking” has to change, otherwise it will continue to do what it has been doing till now, although the Indian Army is prepared to give a strong response to foil its “nefarious designs”. The Lieutenant General was addressing ex-servicemen to commemorate 60 years of the India-Pakistan war of 1965. He said that Operation Sindoor was successful with the cooperation of the administration, ex-servicemen and local people. Let us tell you that the Army protects the 740 km long Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The 240 km long international border in the union territory is guarded by the Border Security Force (BSF). –IANS class/dpb
