New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS) The Congress has issued a strong statement demanding a fair, impartial and timely investigation into the tragic death of 26-year-old software engineer Anandu Aji, whose body was recovered in Kerala on October 7.
In a determined Instagram post before his alleged suicide, Anandu had accused several members of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party), including a man known as “NM”, of sexually and physically exploiting him when he was just four years old.
“Despite Anandu repeatedly mentioning the RSS in his dying declaration, the First Information Report (FIR) filed in the case reportedly makes no reference to the organisation,” the Congress party alleged in a statement.
Congress has raised questions on this omission and asked why the administration is hesitating in taking the name of an unregistered organization when serious allegations of misbehavior and abetment of suicide have been made.
In its statement, Congress warned and alleged that lakhs of children go to RSS camps and Anandu’s story raises serious concerns about their safety.
The party described her testimony as a chilling revelation of exploitation disguised as cultural nationalism, where vulnerable children are allegedly manipulated and silenced under ideological pressure.
Congress leaders have criticized the RSS’s long-standing closeness to political power, saying that despite its influence, it remains unregistered and unaccountable.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has publicly identified himself as a proud pracharak of the RSS, recently launched a commemorative stamp and coin to mark the 100th anniversary of the organisation, the party said.
“Yet, neither the Prime Minister nor senior BJP leaders like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh or Nitin Gadkari have commented on Anandu’s death or called for an investigation,” the Congress party said in a statement.
The Congress also condemned the silence of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and said the organization often preaches values and nationalism but now it has been accused of promoting a “rotten cycle of abuse and exploitation”.
Terming Anandu’s suicide as a warning against uncontrolled power, the Congress urged officials to expose the hidden realities behind the BJP-RSS ecosystem.
The party stressed the urgent need for transparency, accountability and justice in the face of such disturbing allegations.
