Patna, Oct 13 (IANS) Following a Delhi court’s decision to frame charges against RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family in the IRCTC hotel scam case, LJP (Ram Vilas) MP Shambhavi Chaudhary on Monday called it a “big victory against those who took Bihar into darkness”.
The Rouse Avenue court delivered its order, paving the way for the trial under sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act after the accused pleaded not guilty.
Speaking to IANS, Shambhavi Chaudhary said, “Truth always prevails. Satyamev Jayate. Those who have betrayed the people of Bihar will have to answer in time and this is a big victory against those who have taken Bihar towards darkness. The culprits will have to answer in time.”
Responding to the recent social media posts of Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president Upendra Kushwaha regarding the NDA’s seat sharing for the Bihar assembly elections, he said, “Everything is fine within the NDA. Whenever seat sharing is discussed, the top leaders of the alliance come together and take the decision collectively. I don’t think there is any reason for it.” Dissatisfaction after allotment Even if someone is unhappy, the problem will be resolved in time.”
Earlier in the day, Jitan Ram Manjhi said he was satisfied with the NDA’s seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, even though his party got much fewer seats than it demanded.
Comparing his experience during the Lok Sabha elections, Manjhi commented that he was “used to being deprived of things.”
The statement comes a day after the ruling NDA, which also includes HAM, announced the seat-sharing arrangement for the 243-member Bihar Assembly.
Under the agreement, HAM was allotted six seats, much less than Manjhi’s demand.
Initially, Manjhi had sought 40 seats for the 2025 elections, but later he reduced his request to 15. However, the alliance ultimately allotted only six seats to his party.
Speaking to IANS, Manjhi said, “In the parliamentary elections, we were told we would get two Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat, but we got only one. Now, we were told that a minimum of eight seats is required for recognition as a registered party. But one cannot be sure that if they get eight seats, they will win all. So, we asked for a minimum of 15 seats, but they allotted only six seats. Then Also, we are satisfied.”
RLM national president Upendra Kushwaha also said that the allocation of six seats to the party in the upcoming Bihar elections may disappoint many people.
Kushwaha said “thousands and lakhs of people will be saddened by this decision”, including his colleagues who aspire to contest elections.
In a post on X on Sunday, Upendra Kushwaha wrote, “I am sorry to you. The number of seats may not be as per your expectations.
He said, “I apologize to all of you. The number of seats is not as per your expectations. I understand that this decision will hurt thousands and lakhs of people, including our colleagues who aspired to be candidates for our party. Food will not be cooked in many homes today. However, I am sure you all understand the constraints and limitations of both me and the party.”
