Bathinda (Punjab), October 11 (IANS) Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Saturday criticized the opposition for misleading propaganda against the state government and said that instead of serving the people, opposition leaders only want to gain power for their vested interests and scores.
Addressing the gathering after dedicating a railway over bridge here, the Chief Minister said the opposition leaders are eagerly waiting to return to power in the hope of teaching me a lesson for my many pro-people initiatives instead of serving the state.
He said that these leaders have no vision for the state or its people, rather they just want to gain power to suppress the voice of the common man.
CM Mann said that these leaders have looted the state’s property for their vested political interests, due to which the people have ousted them from power.
The Chief Minister said that traditional political parties are jealous of him as they are unable to digest that a common man’s son is ruling the state effectively.
“The people of the state have lost their faith in the traditional political parties due to their anti-people and anti-Punjab stance.” Mann said that the people of the state will forgive these parties which have ruined the state.
The Chief Minister said that these people have only ‘one-sided’ pockets as they can acquire money through illegal means instead of giving it to the people.
He said that former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal has distributed Golak’s money among the people instead of his business.
Taking a dig at Badal’s claim of being a farmer, the Chief Minister said the Akali leader should reveal the secret of how a prosperous transport business and hotels can be built from a piece of land.
He said that everyone knows that the Akalis have ruthlessly looted the state’s property, due to which all these businesses have been established.
