His statement comes amid widespread speculation that Singh may be fielded by the BJP from one of the seven assembly constituencies in Bhojpur district – possibly Arrah or Barhara – following his recent meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) chief and Rajya Sabha member Upendra Kushwaha.
In a post on X, Singh wrote, “I, Pawan Singh, want to inform my Bhojpuri community that I have not joined BJP to contest Bihar Assembly elections, nor do I want to contest the elections. I am and will remain a true soldier of the party.”
He also shared a picture with Amit Shah along with the message.
Singh had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election as an independent from Karakat constituency, but lost to CPI(ML) Liberation’s Raja Ram Kushwaha.
Adding to the political stir, Singh’s wife Jyoti Singh met political strategist Prashant Kishor in Patna on Friday, sparking rumors that she may seek Jan Suraj Party ticket for the upcoming elections.
However, soon after the meeting, Kishor clarified, saying, “Jyoti ji came to meet us today. Let me make it clear that it is not her intention to contest elections or seek a ticket from the party. She had come to share her personal difficulties.”
In recent months, Jyoti Singh has publicly appealed for support from several political leaders amid her ongoing marital dispute with Pawan Singh. The feud escalated recently when Jyoti visited the actor’s flat in Lucknow.
After the 90-minute meeting, Singh reportedly left the residence, while Jyoti stayed back. Police were later called to the scene and Jyoti posted a video online alleging harassment and threats of eviction.
