The school published a statement on Facebook Wednesday afternoon announcing the tragedy.
It said: “Due to the tragic incident that occurred at our beloved school this afternoon we will be closed to all children tomorrow.
“The school will be open again to children and staff on Friday.”

A South Wales Police spokesperson said: “South Wales Police are investigating the sudden death of an 8-year-old girl in Ferndale.
“Emergency services were called to Penrhys Primary School in Ferndale just after 2pm on Wednesday, October 8, to reports of a medical episode. The girl was taken to hospital where she later died.
“There are no suspicious circumstances and a coroner’s investigation is currently ongoing.”
Cllr Julie Edwards posted the following statement on social media: “I have been made aware of a tragic incident that occurred in Penrhys on Wednesday. South Wales Police are conducting a full investigation and more details will be released soon.
“It is still in the early stages of their investigation and they have asked residents not to speculate to avoid spreading misinformation.
“I will update the post once I have more information that I am able to share.”
