dolly parton Following public speculation about her health, the country superstar took to social media on Wednesday to say she is “not dead yet.”

“There are a lot of rumors flying around. But I thought if you heard it from me, you’d know I was OK,” the 79-year-old singer said in a new two-minute video. Instagram“I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think so.” God Is with me. And my work is not finished.”

Her post, which appeared on several of Parton’s social media accounts and her website, was titled, “I’m not dead yet.”

Parton postponed her first concert late last month vegas Residency over 32 years, citing “health challenges”.

She was scheduled to perform six shows with the National Finals Rodeo for “Dolly: Live in Las Vegas” at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace between December 4 and December 13. Its dates have been shifted to next year – September 2026.

She didn’t provide specifics at the time, writing, “As many of you know, I’ve been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctor tells me I need to have some procedures done. As I joked with him, it should be time for my 100,000 mile check-up, although it’s not my usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”

In the new video clip shared on Wednesday, Parton is seen sitting on set and talking directly to the camera, telling her viewers that she’s going to record some commercials for the show. Grand Ole OpryWhich is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

She added, “Everyone thinks I’m sicker than I am. Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here! Anyway, I wanted to ease everyone’s minds, those of you who are really concerned, which I appreciate.” “And I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith. I can always use prayers for anything and everything.”

On Tuesday, a Facebook post shared by her sister Frieda Parton raised concerns about Parton’s health, when she wrote that she was “praying all night long for my sister, Dolly.” A few hours later, Freida Parton made another post.

She wrote, “I want to clarify something. While asking for prayers for Dolly, it was not my intention to scare anyone or make it seem so serious.” “She was a little bad, and I just asked for prayers because I believe very strongly in the power of prayer.”

Parton offered her explanation in the video by referencing her late husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, who died earlier this year at the age of 82.

“I want you to know I’m OK. As I mentioned, I have some problems. When my husband Carl was very sick, he was for a long time, and then when he passed, I didn’t take care of myself. So I let a lot of things go that I should have taken care of,” she said. “So anyway, when I got to it, the doctor said ‘We’ve got to take care of this. We’ve got to take care of this.’ “No big deal, but I had to cancel some things so I could stay closer to home, stay closer to Vanderbilt, where I’m getting some treatment here and there.”

And in true Parton fashion, she ended with a joke. “But I wanted you to know that I’m not dying. Did you see that AI picture of Reba (McEntire) and me, oh my God! I mean, they put Reba on my deathbed, and we both look like we need to be buried,” she said, laughing.

“If I were really dying, I don’t think Reba would be at my deathbed. She might have come to visit me first.”
