Adopt indigenous, this will promote development and create more jobs: PM Modi

Navi Mumbai, 8 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday appealed people to adopt indigenous to empower the country and its citizens after inaugurating the first phase of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) here.

He said, “Adopt Swadeshi. Proudly say Swadeshi, who should also be a mantra of everyone and market. If people start buying indigenous goods and give gifts, the money will return to the economy, which will give development and jobs promoted.”

He also claimed that GST reforms have benefited a lot to the people and the country, he said that various goods were sold in bumper during recently concluded Navratri.

PM Modi emphasized that youth and employment are focusing on the BJP -led government, he said that the government is carrying forward the developed India mission.

He criticized the previous Congress -led UPA government for not attacking Pakistan after the Mumbai terror attack in 2008, saying that the country would like to know under whose pressure the then government took this decision. PM Modi criticized the then Congress -led UPA government and said that the terrorists got strength due to its weak policies and continued their activities.

He said, “It has weakened not only the country but also national security. However, the country and national security have been paramount for the BJP -led government. This operation also appeared during vermilion as Pakistan was given a befitting reply.”

The Prime Minister also criticized the last Maha Vikas Aghadi government to stop various development projects, which the country had to pay a heavy price.

He said that the inauguration of Phase 1 of Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) and other connectivity projects will strengthen the city’s condition as a global center of development and opportunities. He further said that the long wait for Mumbaikars for the second airport ended today with the opening of the first phase of NMIA.

He said, “With this, the Mumbai Metropolitan region will get its second major international airport, which will promote commerce and connectivity. The final phase of Mumbai Metro Line -3 will also be inaugurated. We are committed to increasing the infrastructure of Mumbai and promoting ‘Ease of Living’ for the people of this dynamic city.

He said, “NMIA is an ideal symbol of culture and prosperity and gives a glimpse of developed India. Farmers can be connected to Europe and Gulf countries and can send their produce to global markets. Small and medium industries will benefit, revenue will increase and new industries will come.”

He also remembered the contribution of Lokne DB Patil in the service of the people and his work for the farmers. PM Modi said that his devotion to farmers and people is great and it will inspire others. He said that the country has emerged as a prominent player in the aviation sector, he said that the government wants India to become an MRO hub.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the final phase of the Mumbai Metro 3 Line, launched the Mumbai One App and Chief Minister’s short-term employment program (STEP), which aims to provide industry-efficient and employment-oriented training to the youth in Maharashtra.
