Toyota is initiating the recall of approximately 400,000 vehicles due to a potentially faulty rearview camera system that may fail to appear when reversing, significantly increasing the risk of a crash, according to federal traffic safety regulators.
The recall involves 393,838 automobiles, specifically targeting the 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid along with the 2023-2025 Sequoia Hybrid. More than half of the affected vehicles are non-hybrid Tundra models.
The camera display malfunction is caused by a software issue, which will be fixed by the dealership with a free update.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on November 16. Owners can contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. The recall numbers are 25TB10 and 25TA10.
