Augustala, 7 October (IANS) Tension held parts of Agartala on Tuesday, when BJP supporters allegedly attacked the Tripura headquarters of Trinmool Congress (TMC).

Police said that when some BJP workers tried to attack the Trinmool office in Chitta Ranjan Road in Agartala, they controlled and controlled the situation.

Members of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) organized a rally to condemn the attack on two -time BJP MP, Khagan Murmu from West Bengal, allegedly organized by Trinamool workers in North Bengal.

The protest rally was led by BJP Sadar District President Ashmam Bhattacharjee and MLA Sushant Deb, who is also the youth wing head of the party.

When the rally was passing through the Trinamool office, suddenly, a part of BJP supporters allegedly separated from the procession and brutally vandalized at the entrance of the Trinmool headquarters, awakening in the area.

Police and security personnel were immediately deployed on the spot to control the situation and prevent moving forward.

There was no injury, although property damage was visible at the entrance of the Trinmool office.

The Trinmool Congress condemned the attack. In a post on X, the party said: “Violent attack on AITC Tripura’s office by BJP-supported goons is not a separate task of aggression; it is an open attack on democracy. When exposing violence to silence its opponents in power, they do not highlight strength, but moral insolvency.”

“The BJP talks about ‘saving democracy’ while burning its very foundation, states after the state. They can scare offices, tear posters, and workers, but they cannot destroy the feeling of resistance that every Trinmool worker and every citizen live and every citizen who believes in justice. We will not take back the people of Tripura and India.
