Weather Update: Possibility of heavy rains in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka; Delhi receives rain

The Meteorological Department of India (IMD) has predicted Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep’s southern interior and coastal Karnataka in the next few days, with heavy rains and thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu.

The sub-school areas of West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal and Sikkim are also alert for rain and thunderstorms.

The Met Office said that in the next few days, conditions were now favorable for further withdrawal of south -west monsoon from the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Cloud sky in Delhi

Residents of Delhi experienced heavy rains after a fresh cold on Wednesday morning as a Western disturbance affected the region, reducing temperatures throughout the day and decreasing visibility. The minimum temperature is estimated to fall, causing a pleasant cold in the form of area infection towards the winter season.

On Wednesday, IMD predicted partially cloudy sky for the national capital, with both maximum and minimum temperatures normal.

The Met Office forecast mostly the sky on Thursday, with a temperature between 31 ° C and 33 ° C during the day and 20 ° C to 22 ° C at night.

Humid days with scattered rain in Chennai

Chennai is scattered for a humid day with a scattered rain on 8 October. The temperature is expected to be between 26 ° C and 33 ° C, with cloud sky and humidity on average about 70–74%. The air quality is moderate, with AQI of 83–92, and today’s forecast indicates the possibility of rainfall of 85–90% of rain with winds up to 21.2–25 km/h.

Light to moderate rainfall on South Peninsular India

South Peninsular India is expected to experience light to moderate rainfall over time with heavy rains and thunderstorms in different states in the coming days. Separate rainfall is estimated at Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka by 12 October, extending to Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka by 11 October.

Additionally, the coastal and southern interior of Karnataka and Telangana in the next five days have thunderstorms with thunderstorms with winds at a speed of 30–40 kmph.

In the same period, electricity is also a risk in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, Northern Internal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam will also see strong surface winds (30–40 km per hour) on 7 October.

Light for light rain and thunder in northeast states

For Northeast India, the forecast indicates light rain and light for thunderstorms from 8 to 10 October. There is a possibility of separate heavy rainfall over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during this period. Arunachal Pradesh is expected to see isolated heavy rainfall on 9 and 10 October.
