Bengaluru, 7 October (IANS) Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) issued immediate closed orders for Bigg Boss Kannada Studios on Tuesday, which were in the backdrop of non-transportation of laws and operating without permission.
Season 12 of the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ is being hosted by Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep.
The new season was recently launched.
Reacting to development on Tuesday, State Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre in Bengaluru said, “Despite issuing notices on the violation, they continued them. No one is above the law and action will be initiated as per the provisions of the law.”
“Wells Studios and Entertainment were issued a notice by the regional officials of Ramnagar in March 2024. I have received information that they have not received permission under water and aerial acts, which are needed. I have spoken to the officers. They have not bothered to get permission and have not cared for an application in this regard,” he said.
Minister Khandre also said that despite repeated inspections and notices issuing, activities and amusement parks are continued, in which the orders of the Supreme Court are violated.
He said, “This will also be the amount to violate the National Green Tribunal (NGT). Therefore, a closed notice has been issued to comply with the rules,” he underlined.
Asked if the state government will shut down the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, Khandre said: “Action will be initiated as per the provisions of the law. Everyone will have to respect the land law. It is our responsibility to implement the law and we will do it. There is no need to think otherwise.”
He said, “Everyone has an opportunity to reach the court, let them (big boss makers) let them file an appeal before the court.”
Earlier, a notice was issued to cut the power connection and it has been alleged that the power sour was illegal.
The reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ is being held in Bidadi in Ramnagara district on the outskirts of Bangalore city, 35 acres run by Wales Studio and Entertainment Private Limited at Jollywood Studios and Adventures.
KSPCB said in its order that the Managing Director of Bescom issued necessary directions to the Executive Engineer and Assistant Executive Engineer concerned for disconnection of power supply till further orders.
The order also stated that reading with closed directions (prevention and control of pollution) Act, 1981, Karnataka air (prevention of pollution and control) Rules under Section 31 (A) of the air, read with Rules 20 (A) of Rules, 1983.
The KSPCB has stated that it has issued orders in the backdrop of non-transportation with the provisions of air (prevention and pollution prevention and control) Act by the VELS Studio and Entertainment Private Limited (Jolly Wood Studios and Adventures).
