Tribute paid to tribal warrior Kumaram Bheem on his death anniversary

Hyderabad, Oct 7 (IANS) Rich tributes were paid to legendary tribal martyr Kumaram Bheem on his 85th death anniversary on Tuesday.

Adivasis from different parts of Telangana and other states, including Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, are visiting Jadeghat village in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district to pay homage to the memorial of the Gond leader.

Tuesday has been declared a local public holiday for all government and private schools and colleges located in the erstwhile Adilabad district on the occasion of the death anniversary of Kumaram Bheem.

The anniversary is being observed in all the districts and divisional headquarters in the erstwhile Adilabad district of the tribal warriors who sacrificed their lives fighting for the rights of the tribal people to ‘Jal, Jangal aur Zameen (Water, Forest, Land).

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, ministers and leaders from India Rashtrapati Samiti (BRS) and Telangana Jagruthi paid tribute to tribal leader Kumaram Bheem on his death anniversary.

The Chief Minister recalled that the great leader fought for the rights of tribals.

Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Sethakka posted his tribute on ‘X’. “On this sacred Varadhanti of Komaram Bhima Garu, let us honor the eternal rebel who ignited the flames of tribal pride with his unbridled cry: “Jal, Jangal, Zameen!” “Their sacrifices for water, forests and land inspire us to fight exploitation.

BRS working president KT Rama Rao said the tribal warriors fought for the survival of the tribals for the rights of the people. He said that the fighting spirit of Kumaram Bheem is also inherent in the Telangana movement. “We are proud that during the BRS regime, Asifabad district was named after Kumaram Bheem, a beautiful memorial garden was established in Jodeghat, and a tribal building was constructed in the name of Kumaram Bheem in Hyderabad,” the former minister said.

BRS leader and former IPS officer RS ​​Praveen Kumar paid tribute to the revolutionary tribal leader. He said Kumaram Bheem led a guerrilla war for survival and self-respect, and united all the tribals with the slogan of Jal, Jangal, Zameen. The tribal warrior took on Asaf Jahi’s army to tax the cattle herds.

“We fight for our survival with the inspiration of Kumaram Bheem and the inspiration of self-respect to protect our rights. Let us resist the thieves who seize our lands, send our tribal children to jail, orchestrate attacks on our daughters through forest officials, and plunder our lands in the name of tribals.”

Telangana awakening leader. Kavitha said Kumaram Bhima was a hero who fought for tribal rights all his life with the slogan of ‘Jal, Jungle aur Zameen’.

He remembered that the Telangana movement was carried forward with its slogans and spirit.
