Bhubaneswar, 6 October (IANS) Odisha government on Monday extended the suspension of internet services in Cuttack City to 7 pm on 7 October, to spread rumors on the possible misuse of social networking sites and the potential misuse of quick message services by anti -social elements to spread rumors and to harass peace and peace in the city.
According to an order issued by the Odisha Home Department, the popular social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Instagram, Snapchat, etc., as well as mobile internet/data services of all mobile service providers, all Internet service providers (ISP) internet/data services, and Broadband Dial-up Systems, and Broadband Dial-up Systems, CORPORERE, CORPORERA (CMC). The Home Department suspended internet services in Cuttack City areas for 24 hours from Sunday evening to Monday evening.

During a bike rally organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Sunday evening (5 October), on the attack on Durga Puja immersion procession on Friday night in view of fresh violence in Cuttack, officials have imposed a curfew in many sensitive areas of the city for the next 36 hours.
Speaking to IANS, Police Commissioner Dev Dutt Singh had earlier said, “Yesterday, stones were pelted into the police in Cuttack when they banned a procession, which was held without permission. The police were forced to use the force to disperse the protesters. There is a mobile and stable modes in various areas of the city.
Singh also said that 60 platoon police force, Central Armed Police Force, six companies, various sensitive areas of the city have been rapidly deployed to bring back the general situation.
Amidst communal violence, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, opposition leader Naveen Patnaik, local MLAs, MPs and other leaders appealed to the people to maintain peace.
