Indore, October 6 (IANS) BJP councilors of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) passed a resolution on Monday to remove Congress corporator Anwar Qadri, who have been arrested for allegedly funding for the operation of ‘Love-Jehad’ in the city.
BJP councilors led by Mayor Pushyamitara Bhargava along with Indore (Urban) District President Sumit Mishra held a meeting at the party headquarters in Indore and decided that a proposal to remove Anwar Qadri would be kept in the Municipal Corporation’s house.
Confirming the development, Sumit Mishra said that BJP councilors unanimously passed the resolution in the meeting, which will now be brought in front of the Indore Municipal Corporation’s house in the next meeting.
Addressing a press conference in Indore on Monday, Mishra said, “All BJP councilors have been instructed to appear in the house, the day the proposal to abolish Anwar Qadri will be placed in the House in the upcoming meeting.”
Qadri, a Congress corporator of ward number 58 in Indore, has been arrested for allegedly “targets”, “sexually” attacks, and “religiously” to “funding” members of the minority community for “religious” to “religious”.
The case against Qadri arose in June when two people were arrested for allegedly rape and trying to change women. Qadri was nominated in the case due to his conflict statements.
Qadri arrested her for more than two months after registering an FIR at Banganga police station on 14 June, motivating the Indore police to announce a reward of Rs 40,000 in her name.
He was finally arrested in the last week of August. Earlier, Qadri’s daughter was also arrested for supporting her father in arrest in Delhi.
The Congress, which is the main protest in the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), has not yet made any statement on this issue.
