Lucknow, 6 October (IANS) intensifying its investigation into the Bareilly violence, the Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday booked two colleagues of Islamic Maulvi Tauqir Raza – Dr. Nafees and Madem, fabricated and fake letters, were issued in the name of a local resident named Liyakat.
The case has been registered under sections 318 (4), 338, 336 (3), and 340 (2) of the Indian Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Liyaqat claimed that Tauqir Raza’s colleagues prepared a fake letter in his name, forged his signature, and falsely claimed his support for a cleric’s appeal for protests on ‘I Love Muhammad’ Ro.
He claimed that anyone from his village did not respond to Tucir Raza’s appeal to join the demonstration on the ‘I Love Muhammad’ controversy, but the pair, Nafees and Nadeem clearly implicated their signature on the IMC letter.
He said, “The purpose of this illegal act was not only to mislead the administration, but also to disrupt the peace and peace of the city. I want to clarify that I have no connection with the IMC party, nor have I ever held any position in it,” he claimed in the FIR.
In particular, the Bareilly administration has made a clamp on criminals behind the violence after Friday’s prayer on 26 September.

Nafees Khan’s iear shop, who claimed to be a doctor, was also sealed. Four shops in the House and Farhat, who allegedly gave shelter to Taukir Raza, were also sealed.
Madem Khan was also constructed on a land worth crores of rupees using the influence of Taukir Raza. These shops were also sealed by the Bareilly administration.
