Visakhapatnam, 5 October (IANS) An Italian tourist died and on Sunday, he fell ill after flowing in waves on the Yarada beach here.
According to police, a group of 16 foreign tourists were bathing on the beach. Two of them, both Italians, drowned when they went into deep water.
Port Marine Police and Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) came into action and brought them to the shore.
However, one of them was found in critical condition. Rescue workers demonstrated cardiopulmonary revival (CPR) but in vain. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The body was transferred to King George Hospital (KGH).
The New Port Police registered a case and conducted an investigation. Despite repeated warnings from the maritime police and GVNC Lifeguard, tourists entered the sea that water was unsafe to swim due to strong currents and depth.
Tourists, both domestic and foreigners, in Viskapatnam and the surrounding beaches, especially on weekends.
Marine police and municipal authorities have deployed personnel on the beaches to warning tourists to come to the sea at the places considered to be insecure for swimming and to take the rescue whenever needed.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh was for Women and Child Development Minister and Tribal Welfare. Sandhya Rani visited KGH on Sunday, where 85 girl students of a residential school were undergoing treatment.

Sandhya Rani also spoke to doctors and hospital officials and inquired about the condition of the girls. He instructed the hospital officials to provide the best treatment to the children.
He told the media persons that the students were suffering from fever and jaundice. Some students also came to know of Hepatitis A. He said that 129 out of 129 students have been made ill, 37 has been transferred to KGH. The remaining students were undergoing treatment at Parvatipuram.
The minister clarified that none of the students were important.
